Los problemas de Catalunya, parte II
Bueno, estábamos con que las chicas no me hacen caso y por eso hago blogs, ¿no? En fin, no. Estábamos por “la subordinación cultural a la cultura castellana”. Anteayer me perdí hablando de esencias y cosas de esas. En realidad éste es un tema peliagudo, pero no tanto. Mi tésis es que no es importante la subordinación a la cultura castellana, porque el hecho diferencial no alcanza más que a la lengua. No siempre ha sido así.Históricamente es cierto que el hecho diferencial catalán existía en más de un sentido, en Catalunya había una sociedad civil muy activa, como decía d’Ors (vaya personaje), a diferencia de la España interior. Incluso Larra lo reconoce, en sus tiempos, hablando de ciudades con clase media, como Barcelona o Cádiz (sin duda, por el comercio con las indias) a diferencia de Madrid.
Pero los tiempos del poblachón manchego lleno de subsecretarios, que diría Cela, (o de la ciudad de más de un millón de cadáveres, ya puestos...) hace tiempo que pasaron a la historia. Barcelona hace tiempo que dejó de ser la capital económica, a favor de Madrid. Por eso, no hay un hecho diferencial real en Catalunya más allá de la lengua. Hace tiempo que hay una sociedad civil activa en el resto de España (y si no, miren las manifestaciones del PP... Es broma). Ahora llegamos al meollo. La cultura catalana en catalán se tiene que preservar, porque es singular y propia nuestra. Si, pero ¿De qué manera nos podemos desembrazar del “yugo” cultural castellano? ¿A costa de qué? Catalunya tiene ahora capacidad normativa como para hacer una ley de exclusividad del catalán à la Quebecoise... ¿Qué ganaríamos con ella? Dónde está el límite? ¿No nos estaríamos perjudicando, atacando, o no ayudando, la cultura catalana que no está en catalán, que por lo tanto es indistinguible de la castellana? (como este triste blog de un servidor de ustedes)
Bueno, he estado haciendo trampa. He dicho que el hecho diferencial se limita a la lengua. ¡Como si fuera poco! El conocimiento de una lengua conlleva el de una literatura, y una literatura específica es un elemento conformador de una cultura diferenciada. Sin embargo, pese a creer que es necesario ayudar con discriminación positiva si es necesario el catalán, para mantenerlo como la lengua de cultura que sigue siendo hoy en día, no creo que tratar la catalana como una excepción cultural sea honesto. La cultura catalana no tiene la envergadura de la castellana ni de la francesa y hoy en día hay quien se plantea si uno puede seguir hablando de la excepción cultural francesa, pese a haber dominado esta cultura todas las otras a lo largo de muchos años.
Escribir en catalán no es limitarse, yo leo libros en catalán y es una lengua que quiero y en la que hablo mas de un 50% del tiempo, aunque no la hablaran conmigo mis padres. Limitarse es no querer conocer el catalan o el castellano, o ningunearlo jactandose de su desconocimiento, como cuando uno dice ¡Es que las matematicas nunca se me han dado bien!... Por suerte esta es una actitud que si existe es muy minoritaria, no creo que nadie se enorgullezca de su incultura (aunque la gente lo haga normalmente con las matemáticas).
Para acabar esta perorata, un poco de alarmismo. Ahora, al cabo de los años, en Catalunya hemos alcanzado una cosa complicadísima, que es un cierto equilibrio. Por favor, no nos lo carguemos. Tratemos de amar a la Catalunya real, y no a la de nuestros sueños. Y a la inversa, para todos aquellos que se rien de nosotros (si, de nosotros ) que se miren en el espejo. Que traten de ponerse en el lugar de un niño cuyos padres y amigos hablan en catalán al que se le impone de facto el castellano para desenvolverse con normalidad en sociedad.
Otra vez me he vuelto a alargar demasiado. Pero bueno, quería enfatizar que la cultura catalana es algo bastante grande, amplio y complejo como para estar subordinado u amenazado. Si está amenazada lo está como cualquier otra cultura no anglosajona.
En el blog siguiente hablaré del autogobierno. Y puede que de identidad... Los problemas de verdad los dejaré para otro blog... Catalunya tiene muchos problemas, me parece...
